Radio Show
Since January, members of the Folklore society have been hosting a weekly radio show on University of Chicago radio WHPK (88.5 fm). This show takes place Wednesdays, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm Central. It can be streamed online from http://www.whpk.org/stream/.
Booking
If you're interested in playing at our festival, please send your information, including a recent recording, to our mailing address (see information on the left). We like to have excellent traditional musicians at our festival, for example old-time fiddlers, klezmer bands, irish pipers, cajun bands, traditional blues acts, new orleans brass bands, and so on. Other types of submissions are appreciated, but it may be difficult for us to book other types of acts.
In Memoriam
The University of Chicago Folklore Society regrets the passing of Professor Starkey Duncan on May 28, 2007. Starkey was a well-loved friend who served as the faculty advisor for the Folklore Society since 1967. More information on Starkey can be found here. Our thoughts are with his family.
