The UChicago Folk Festival is powered by volunteers, who do everything from working backstage and in our greenroom to setting up workshops, selling CDs, and working with our performers.  There's a job for everyone's interest and ability, and volunteers earn a free ticket to either of our evening concerts – not bad for a job this fun!

If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up for a Friday or Saturday shift; contact uofcfolk@gmail.com with any questions about roles and responsibilities.

A Bit of History

Also from Richard Chase to former Folklore Society president Mike Fleischer, this handwritten postcard is dated December 22, 1960. It says that Horton Barker "is willing to come" to the festival but needs to know the dates of the fest.
